We both grew up in Munich and we live in South Africa since the end of 2001. Two of our three children have returned to Germany in order to start their professional training. Our ministry takes place in cooperation with the Apostolic Faith Mission of South Africa.
Our work in South Africa
We are living in the centre of the province of KwaZulu-Natal, where we are mainly working among the Zulus. The foundation of our work is the transforming power of the Gospel, which changes people from within. Most times our Tent Crusades take place in the rural areas, where people are still relatively unreached. Typically our campaigns last two to three weeks. Besides the daily evening services we do Open Airs, visit Schools and Clinics and in the second week we offer a starter course for those who are interested. An important part is also children´s ministry as well as personal counselling for those who are seeking help. We work closely together with a team of local people.
South Africa - a country full of contrasts
South Africa is on one hand an industrial nation, on the other hand it´s still a developing country. You can have all benefits of the modern world in the big cities, but still you can quickly reach very poor and neglected areas. Very much affected by the history of "Apartheid" the country became a worldwide example for reconciliation between different people groups and races. Despite of democracy the social circumstances have not improved lastingly. Crime and Violence have increased significantly during the last years. Life expectancy cannot be compared with other industrial nations because of one of the highest HIV infection rates in the world. South Africa is one of the most beautiful countries in the world with a heart-rending history.
Our South African Co-Workers
We work together with a team of eight people from the ethnic group of the Zulus. Mabongi and Bonginkosi are full time co-workers since many years and they cover important tasks in our team. They are responsible for crusade preparation, counselling, preaching and teaching. We are thankful for having such faithful and committed co-workers on our side.
